Septèmes-les-Vallons Veolia Project
This project consisted of the installation of an ORC module to recovery the waste heat produced by two biogas engines near to Marseille, France.
Veolia operates a landfill in Septèmes-les-Vallons. Biogas is collected from waste decomposition and is burned in two Jenbacher gas engines. The waste heat contained in the flue gas and from the engine cooling system was not valorized prior to this project. Aqylon’s ORC module recovers this waste heat to generate up to 300 KWe, increasing the energy efficiency of the site. Through this project, the net electricity production of this site was increased by 10%. This increase and the fact that a large amount of waste heat is now valorized allowed Veolia to obtain an improved feed-in tariff.
Aqylon had an EPC role in this project, including financial structuring, design of the thermodynamic loop, design of the turbine, civil works, on-site installation, connection to the grid and on-site operation. ( read more)
The project consists in the installation of an ORC module on 3 biogas engines, near to Toulouse.
In 2015, Aqylon signed a contract for a heat recovery project on a biogas power plant in France. This facility is owned by Trifyl. Aqylon is currently manufacturing the 100 KWe module that will valorize the waste heat produced by biogas engines. The system uses the same medium temperature ORC technology as the Veolia project. AQYLON planned to deliver this WHR system in July 2016. (read more)
