The expression “ORC system” can cause confusion if it is not bring together with precisions.
By ORC system, people mean either ORC turbine, ORC power module, or the complete ORC power plant.
An ORC turbine is a mechanical device that allows to convert thermal energy in mechanical energy. The turbine drives an electric generator which produces electricity.
The ORC power module consists of an ORC turbine, a generator, an evaporator, a condenser, a pump, and sometimes a regenerator.
In most of situation, ORC system means ORC power module. AQYLON has standard power modules of 500, 1000, 2000 and 5000kWe. Our ORC systems produce reliable and decentralized energy.
The organic fluid is vaporized in the evaporator (1) and then supplied to the ORC turbine (2) that drives the generator (3), producing, clean and reliable power. The vaporized fluid enters the regenerator (4) to give its remaining energy to the liquid organic fluid. The steam is then condensed in a condenser (5) which is supplied with cooling water. The condensed fluid is then pumped (6) into the regenerator, (4) and finally into the evaporator (1) to close the circuit. AQYLON ORC systems are preassembled in our Paris facility workshop in two 40’ containers for the 1 MWe unit, in two 20’ and two 40’ containers for the 2 MWe unit and in one or more containers for the other products.
AQYLON can also provide client with the whole ORC power plant. This commercial proposition includes the ORC power module, the heat exchanger (to recover heat from fumes, exhaust gases or processes) and the aero water chiller. AQYLON selected the best heat exchanger and aero water chiller manufacturers to operate with its ORC system.
